A very interesting article.

For local council elections, I never understood why at local elections people vote against really good local cllrs because of the colour of their rosette. I’d rather have no parties at local elections and have independent councillors representing their districts rather than towing the party line with divided loyalties instead of the people they are supposed to be working for.

I had one local cllr argue FOR closing the local library in Sydenham because the council didn’t have enough money. I told her she was supposed to be fighting to keep it open. I never voted for her after that.

I think we need to add some more colours to the rosettes. Vote for the councillor, not the brand of party.
