At 7pm this Wednesday, 6th April, Lewisham Council and the OLSPN developers are holding a local planning meeting at the School. The developers are presenting their plans, and will answer questions.
Some points to notice are that they are intending to recolour the windows in situ, possibly by applying a plastic film. The building will be reclad with red brick slips (thin tile like strips, stuck to a panel) up to the first floor windows, and red terracotta panels above. It’s going to be very red, and look even bigger, in my opinion. The roof playground has lost the planned concrete wall, intended to shelter it from wind and rain, and act as a sound baffle. The current plan’s ball fence and widely spaced metal fins will do nothing to dampen noise for nearby homes.
It appears that they are trying to push this application through during electoral purdah, to avoid publicity, and want to take it to Strategic Planning later this month. This means that there will be no time or opportunity for negotiation or compromise.
Please come to the meeting, tell your neighbours about it, and remember to put your written comments in to planning.
