Countryside days out from Sydenham

What are your favourite countryside escapes?

Drove to Ightham Mote this weekend as part of mine and Liz’s ongoing “National Trust Crawl” (middle aged eh). It’s near Sevenoaks, so a 50 min drive out of Sydenham.

Ightham Mote is a unique historic building - a mediaeval Manor House in great condition. Lovely gardens too. Also had a very decent cafe and a small play area for kids.
