The new 24/7 Ultra Low Emission Zone starts in central London on 8 April and vehicles passing through will have to comply or pay a daily fee.

From 25 October 2021 the ULEZ boundary will be extended to create a larger zone bounded by the North and South Circular Roads. If you are driving any petrol or diesel vehicle within this enlarged area you will also need to meet new tighter emissions standards or pay a daily charge.

Vehicles using the North and South Circular Roads and not going into the ULEZ will not be charged.

Worth doing a check on your car before getting all wound up. My diesel is ok and won’t be subject to this charge. I assume it’s trucks and older cars that will be affected. Check your car here https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/ultra-low-emission-zone/vrm-checker-ulez
